Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change employers on an Employment Visa?
Changing employers requires a new visa application with fresh sponsorship from the new employer. You cannot commence work with the new employer until the application is approved.
Can my spouse work on a Dependant Visa?
Yes. Dependants of Employment Visa holders are permitted to take up employment in Hong Kong without needing a separate work visa, provided their dependant visa is valid and they have the right to work endorsed.
How many years until Permanent Residency?
After 7 years of continuous ordinary residence in Hong Kong, you may apply for the Right of Abode (permanent residency).
